This meeting includes patients with retinitis pigmentosa, and doctors involved in many aspects of care of retinitis pigmentosa patients.  One of the most exciting symposiums was the bionic eye presentations, which had a full house for the presentations.  This included Dr. Kokame’s presentation on the epiretinal implant Argus II, and other presentations from Germany on a subretinal implant approved in Europe.

The meeting was somewhat overwhelming as there were so many patients who hoped to be the next one to obtain the ARGUS II implant.
